The staff at Peace Valley OSB reached another milestone on November 21, 2006 when the mill celebrated the First Anniversary of the pressing of the first OSB board a year earlier.  The special day was marked by a Media Briefing & Tour and with each employee receiving a special First Anniversary lunch bag.  The special events were the first since the Grand Opening ceremony and Open House held on May 12 &13, 2006. PVOSB recently reached a single-day production record of 2.4 million square feet of OSB, representing 105% of a single day’s production at the mill.  General Manager Chris Baby says it has been a steep learning curve during the first year of production but staff has weathered ‘the perfect storm’ and are looking forward to showing what the mill can really do during 2007.  Baby concluded the tour by saying that everyone at Peace Valley appreciates the solid support from the people of Fort St, John and area.  He says the community has adopted the mill and its’ staff with open arms and made everyone feel at home during the mill’s first full year of operation.
